The Italian protein meal: Frittatas

From all the dishes I’ve cooked so far, I would say that Italian Frittatas are personally my favorite. Not only is it easy to make, but it is also done with imagination and a lot of fun. Not only is this Italian dish exquisite but also it’s also very healthy and with just a little portion of it, you have enough energy and fuel to get on with your day. Frittatas are essentially made of eggs and everything else that you add to it is your decision and it will still up being just as delicious. There are all different types of Frittatas: Spinach and Mushroom, Potato and vegetable, bacon cheese or even salmon frittatas but we’ll be making the chicken sausage and potato frittata.

Ingredients:

·      Chicken breast cut in to little pieces and seasoned with Bovril broth, black pepper and some brat. Let it rest for at least half an hour.
·      Green and red pepper diced in little pieces
·      Black olives
·       Boiled Potatoes diced in little pieces
·      Mushrooms diced in little pieces
·      Tomatoes diced in little pieces
·      Onion leaves cut in small pieces.
·      Onions diced
·      Sausage cut in rings
·      Cheddar cheese.
·      Eggs

Directions:

Heat up a big enough skillet that will be able to contain all the ingredients above. Add some olive oil or palm oil in the pan depending on your preference. When the oil is hot enough, add the little pieces of chicken that were seasoned and let it for 5min before adding the onions. 10 min after the onions have been added, add the potatoes, sausage, mushrooms (depending of if you like you mushrooms a little cooked). Stir all of that together and you might want to add a little water so that the chicken could cook appropriately.

While it’s cooking you can add some salt and black pepper depending on how tasty you want you chicken.  Your chicken will be ready when the water you earlier is all gone and that all the flavors have come together. While your chicken is cooling down in the skillet you can start beating your eggs and but in what you usually do when you make eggs in the morning. When in an oven bowl, you lay out your chicken and on top just pour the eggs. When the eggs have been poured on top of the chicken, you can go on and add the rest of the ingredient: tomatoes, onion leaves, black olives, green and red pepper. You end it by covering all of that up with cheese, put as much as you want because those are your Frittatas J . This is what you Frittatas should look like before putting the in the oven.

And this is what it should cook like after being in the oven for 15 min at 300 ° F

Bonne appétit!!!!!

The Mexican Snack: Nachos

Just like its country of origins, nachos is a very exotic meal and trust me when I tell you that the smell and the taste of this Mexican dish is just as appealing as its beauty. Coming from someone who has never cooked Mexican before, I can tell you that this dish is the simplest and the easiest meal to make and it only take half an hour of your time. For those looking for a healthy homemade snack while watching the game or a movie with your friends and family, there is no better recipe than this one, and its actually fun to make J.

Ingredients:

·      2 bags of corn tortilla chips. There are different colors of tortilla chips and all of them have flavors so I would recommend for you to choose your two favorite ones.
·      1 extra chunky, medium salsa
·      2 large onions diced in small cubes
·      1 can of brown beans
·      1 can of black olives
·      3 jalapenos peeper finely chopped
·      3 tomatoes diced in little cubes
·      1 small/ medium hash meat depending on the amount of meat you want
·       1 bag of 3 cheese Mexicana (Kraft)

v Some of the ingredients listed above can be changed and replaced depending on what you like.

Directions:  To cook the meat, I frying pan will to the trick. So heat up a nonstick skillet over medium high heat, add in some olive or palm oil. While waiting for the pan to heat up, put the hash meet in a bowl and season meat with some salt and pepper or instead of putting salt, add some Bovril broth, which I personally love because it has a lot of flavor and taste and it brings out a lot of juice in the meat while cooking. When done adding those ingredients mix up the meat a little before putting it in the skillet.

When in the skillet, make sure that the hash meat isn’t sticky, and to make sure that doesn’t happen stir it very often for 5min before adding the onions. Let it cook for 10min and its done. While the meat cools off in the skillet, spread the 2 bags of nachos in a large baking boll then spread the meat over the nachos making sure that there is no nachos left without meat on top. When done with the meat, do the same type of spreading with the tomatoes, jalapenos, olives and black beans. Top all of that delicious décor with the 3 cheese Mexicana cheese.

This is what your nachos should look like before putting it in the oven. Set the oven at 300 °F for 15 min. I would say that depending on how you like your cheese you could choose the timing of the oven.

And VOOOIIIILLLAAAA!!!!
